I am an elderly lady, (about 120 years old) originally from a fishing family, full of character, warmth and vitality. I have an air of serenity and peace and stand elevated above the hustle and bustle of the surroundings and often feel that I have the world at my feet.

I have seen ships from all around the world come and go and shared the excitement of the many naval exercises. I have watched lovely sleek yachts race as they stream out of the harbour and over the bay, longing for the breeze or battling the force of the winds.

From September through to November we are visited by the Southern Right whales, who have also discovered the safety and tranquillity of our bay. They come to mate or give birth to their calves and stay to wallow with them till they are old enough to make their long journey back to Antarctica.

Let me tell you about myself...

You enter off Paradise Road coming into the warm welcoming live-in kitchen. This area has been newly renovated and has a ceramic top stove and under-counter oven with warming drawer. A super silent dishwasher takes over the household chores and there is a double fridge/freezer. A cupboard sized pantry holds all your dishes and cooking bowls and there is plenty of room to store groceries

There is an ironing cupboard with ironing board and steam iron.

There is a breakfast bar with prep bowl and on-tap filtered water. The dining room area is adjacent to the kitchen with a lovely old oak table and seating for six.

As you walk down the passage and out of the front door... you will find the whole of the bay in front of you with a view of the harbour and the mountains on either side. You will want to stay there, but let's continue through the rest of the house first - then you can come and relax on the verandah and soak up the view and the tranquillity.

To the left of the passage you have a very spacious double bedroom with ample built in cupboards. When one sits up in bed, you can look out of the window and see the sea whilst basking in the early morning sun as you ponder the day ahead.

There is a full bathroom en suite with the original old bathtub that one can lie in and soak. There is under floor heating in the bathroom for a little bit of extra comfort.

There is also a built in cupboard in the bathroom which houses an automatic washing machine and tumble drier.

Across the passage you will enter into the comfortable lounge area, which has a television, video recorder and a small radio music centre.

Off the lounge is the second bedroom, which overlooks the back patio and has large twin beds, built in cupboards and a lovely bright en-suite bathroom.

Then it is back to the verandah, the view and the sound of the waves breaking on the beach below which is within short walking distance of the cottage.

In the morning after the sunrise over the sea, it is wonderful for your footprints to be the first on the beach...and...after supper, you can watch the moon come up over the bay...magic!
